Taikotastic

My favorite outing of the weekend was the closing day of Little Tokyo Nisei Week.  Loved the taiko drum performances all day - afterward, daddy decided I had "taiko tummy" and would play me like a giant drum. Ha ha. Here you see me taking it all in. There was also a cool obon dance session in the streets to wind down the weekend, which frankly took a while to get going but was neat once it started.

Taming the Cat

Just made my first trip to San Diego - had a terrific time! Especially enjoyed the zoo - the animals were amazing, of course, but especially loved the many photographic opportunities around the animals. In this shot, I'm besting a saber-toothed tiger.

Manga Fun Day!

Went to the Japanese American National Museum today, where I got to star in my very own Usagi Yojimbo scene. I make a decent evil ronin, if I do say so myself.

I also made some stylish bunny ears (with a little help from mom and dad).

Gone Hollywood

Went to a very nice reception for United States Artists and Film Independent at the LA Film Festival yesterday. They were pouring Jameson, which I thought was nice, and celebrating the excellent filmmakers supported by both organizations, as well as the on-line arts community that my mom is working on, USA Projects. I loved mingling with the creative types, but I wish I had refined my pitch before the party - my project is a complex psycho-drama set in a Mommy and Me class (think Black Swan meets Look Who's Talking). I did get my moment on the carpet, though, and I discovered that I'm definitely am a fan of the spotlight.

Undersea adventure

Well, not *really* - it just looks like it in this picture. We went to the California Science Center a few weeks ago, and they have a very cool kelp forest aquarium. Very soothing.

Are you ready for some football?

At the risk of me being taken by child protective services, mom has dared to dressed me in this set of footie pajamas -- which was her mother's day gift.

Starchitect in training

My dad keeps discouraging my interest in building, although I can't help myself - I am compelled to stack. If this is what he does all day, then sign me up. He does occasionally offer suggestions that he claims are simply about maintaining structural integrity, but I argue that engineering needs to catch up to my creativity.
